Summer, 1992
Duncan attends
Mitchell
College
and meets a great group of friends who call themselves the 311 Crew
referencing the room they hang out in. He also meets Amy (his later
fiancée 2002) who after one day and night decides that
Duncan is too young for her and that she can’t be with him. (he was 18 and she was 19) Additionally, Amy's roommate likes Duncan which makes him "off limits."
Duncan
meets his first fiancée Liss. After bribing a bar tender at the Spring
Formal to keep Liss’s date occupied, Duncan manages to sweep her off
her feet and the rest was history. Liss also introduces Duncan to
volunteering for the Special Olympics.
Duncan accepts a job with the NYS Dept. of Transportation as a Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 1.
1996
Duncan accepts a job in the Governmental Relations office of NYSDOT.
1997
Duncan accepts a position with the New York State Senate as a Coordinator.

A year and a half into training I had to leave NSA due to a series of unfortunate events (largely ADD related).

The Woodhall ski trip.

Graduates from the Woodhall School where he was allowed to learn at his own pace... Fast!!!
Duncan
and George set out on their first camping trip together too Algonquin
Provincial Park in Canada. Part way through the trip they made some
friends who invited them to stay at their place in
Toronto and attend a free Black Crows concert. This begins a tradition of annual camping trip adventures.

Duncan
buys what will become his all time favorite vehicle.... TANK!!!!! This
1985 Ram Charger evolved during Duncan's ownership and ended up with
an internal role bar, front push bar, lifted suspension, over sized
tires, modified 340 small block (8mpg), and a custom sound system with integrated CB radio. TANK was renowned for
impromptu road trips, off-road capabilities, the unmistakable
sound it made when the secondaries opened up on the Holly 4 barrel
carburetor and a willingness to race anything on wheels.
TANK was also known for "needing some work" and provided Duncan with an education in auto-mechanics.

Duncan gets his dog “Tasha” who is a 5 years old rescue.
Tasha becomes renowned for being overprotective of
Duncan and as an accomplished escape artist.
Tasha's antics include being bailed out of jail by George (she was actually scheduled to be euthanized for
biting someone who was throwing rocks at her), her ability to escape
from 2nd story windows, open a variety of door types, slip out of every
type of collar and body harness know to man, was once found 6ft up in
an apple tree, manages to hunt successfully while tied up, can
dominate and entire king size bed (has actually pushed sleeping people
off of "her" couch much to their surprise) is an
experienced camper and is a remarkable with children.
You always know when it's hunting season!!! (Tasha hates guns)

Duncan & Liss split up but remain close friends.
Duncan buys, bull-doses, and rebuilds his first house.
Duncan begins dating Natalie.
Duncan completes the Conflict Management program at Cornell University's Albany branch by attending night school.
Duncan
’s mother Margaret (Peggy) M. Boyd dies of colon cancer. They were very close.

Duncan
brings home Shine (Golden Retriever) who's full name is Margaret-Shine Boyd.
To this day most people think her name is short for sunshine.
December, 1998
Duncan's friend Dawn from Mitchell moves into the guest room.
Duncan starts dating Tanya.
